March Goals: Work with the concept of a picture within a picture using Landscape Elements, Quick construction done with heavy decorative stitching through all layers I have always like the idea of a scene within a scene so I created a very simple landscape, then used printed fabrics to make smaller areas of intense focus within the larger landscape. The pine boughs were free-motion stitched through all layers, which is a much faster method than the way I usually work. Typically, I do most of my intense stitching on the quilt top only, backed with stabilizer, in order to avoid puckering. This quilt was made, embellished and quilted on a Janome 6500 Pro |
